Castor oil skin care oil

Castor oil is a true all-rounder when it comes to skin and hair care. It moisturizes and is known for its antioxidant effect. Cold-pressed castor oil protects the skin and hair from environmental influences. It also cares for eyelashes, eyebrows and nails.

Castor oil is obtained from the seeds of the miracle tree (Ricinus communis). It is also known as castor oil. Castor oil is viscous and colorless to pale yellow. It differs from other oils primarily in that it is more viscous. The reason for this is that up to 90 % of the oil consists of ricinoleic acid, a triglyceride.

For the skin

The oil is considered moisturizing and can help with skin problems such as flaky skin or scars. The skincare oil is the perfect addition to your beauty routine. The oil can also be added to existing skin care products.

For the hair

Castor oil nourishes damaged hair and dry scalps and gives hair shine and suppleness. It can be used as an additive to shampoos or as a hair treatment. Massaging a few drops of the oil onto the scalp also has a beneficial effect. Used regularly, it repairs damaged hair and helps to strengthen it.

For eyelashes and eyebrows

Castor oil gently conditions eyelashes and eyebrows and gives them shine. We recommend using it overnight so that the durability of make-up such as mascara is not affected during the day. Castor oil is said to promote the growth of eyelashes and eyebrows. In fact, castor oil often makes the hairs appear shinier and darker, but castor oil does not actively influence hair growth.

For the nails

Brittle nails and cracked cuticles can benefit from the use of the oil. When used regularly, the oil can strengthen the nails and is therefore suitable for the care of brittle or dry nails. At the same time, the nail bed is moisturized, making the cuticles more supple.

As skin care

• Apply a few drops of castor oil to the face.
• Gently massage in the nourishing oil using circular movements.
• Leave on overnight if necessary.
• Remove excess oil with a cloth or pad.

As a hair treatment

• Wash the hair with a mild shampoo.
• Apply a few drops of castor oil to towel-dried hair and massage gently into the scalp.
• Leave on for two hours or overnight.
• Rinse the hair thoroughly with a shampoo.

Our tip: The castor oil can also be mixed with coconut oil in a 3:1 ratio beforehand.

For eyelash and eyebrow care

• Apply the oil to the eyelashes and eyebrows using an eyelash brush.
• It is best to leave it on overnight.
• Remove the remaining oil in the morning with a cloth or pad.

Our tip: Castor oil can be used together with olive oil as an eyelash and eyebrow serum. It can also be added to mascara to condition eyelashes.

As nail care

• Apply the oil to the nails with a small brush, for example an unused toothbrush.
• Leave the oil on for around 30 minutes.
• Remove excess oil with a cloth or pad.
