Turmeric powder in raw food quality

Our turmeric powder is produced gently and in raw food quality from organically grown turmeric roots. The yellow roots are peeled after harvesting, gently dried at a maximum temperature of 40 °C and ground into a fine powder. This gentle production process preserves the valuable ingredients and natural color in their best form. Turmeric powder contains the secondary plant substance curcumin and is particularly popular in Ayurvedic cuisine and naturopathy.

Turmeric powder effect

The effect of turmeric powder is versatile. In this recipe"Anti-inflammatory yoghurt", published by NDR, turmeric powder is used in combination with yoghurt, linseed oil, cinnamon and almonds.

Our turmeric powder is free from preservatives, colorings and flavorings, vegan and lactose-free. The naturally pure powder is ideal for seasoning exotic dishes with fish, meat and vegetables and gives smoothies, shots and "golden milk" a natural color and a Far Eastern taste. The turmeric powder is checked and bottled in Germany.

Origin and history of turmeric

Turmeric is also known as turmeric or Indian saffron and belongs to the ginger family. In Germany, the bright yellow spice is particularly popular as a natural colorant and spice with an exotic flair. The Latin name for turmeric root is Curcuma longa. The plant originates primarily from South East Asia and India, where it has been revered as a sacred plant for many thousands of years. For some years now, the medicinal healing properties of turmeric have also been studied in Germany. Turmeric root has long been used as a remedy in traditional Chinese medicine and in Ayurveda, Indian medicine.

Turmeric in powder form has many advantages over fresh turmeric root. It can be stored well, protected from oxygen and UV rays, for a long time and retains its full seasoning power as well as its valuable ingredients and effect in the best form. Around half a kilo of turmeric root is needed for 100 g of turmeric powder (alternative spelling: curcuma powder). In Ayurvedic medicine, turmeric powder is said to help alleviate and prevent numerous ailments. Of course, turmeric root powder is not a medicine, but a natural product that is generally considered to be well tolerated.

A daily dose of up to 2.5 to 3 grams of turmeric powder per day (around half a teaspoon) is recommended. Turmeric can slow down blood clotting when taken regularly. Therefore, please discuss the recommended daily dose with your doctor if you are taking long-term medication such as cholesterol-lowering drugs or blood thinners.

A comparison of turmeric and ginger

Turmeric is also known as turmeric and Indian saffron. The root belongs to the ginger family and looks very similar to ginger root. However, while ginger is primarily known for its intense and pungent taste, turmeric root tastes milder, less intense and slightly bitter in comparison.

When peeling the two similar roots, it is noticeable that turmeric has a more intense, bright yellow or orange color, the colorant curcumin. The peeled ginger root is much lighter and pale yellow in comparison.

Usage

With its spicy taste, turmeric powder is ideal for seasoning and flavoring exotic dishes with vegetables, poultry, rice and Asian noodles. It adds a Far Eastern touch to hot and cold dishes and refines the popular "golden milk".

Once opened, the powder should be used quickly and always stored in a cool, dark place away from oxygen. We offer our turmeric powder in a practical, resealable zipper bag. The powder may contain traces of cereals containing gluten.

Also gesund ist Kurkuma ja. Doch bisher habe ich es nur im Müsli versucht. Das war nicht so eine gute Kombi. Da muss ich mir was anderes überlegen.

Geschmack gut.
