The flax plant, also known as flax (Liunum usitatissimum L.), is one of the oldest cultivated plants in the world and is valued for the high proportion of polyunsaturated omega-3 fatty acid, also known as alpha-linolenic acid, in its seeds.
Linseed cake as healthy feed for horses
The press cake, which is produced when brown linseed is processed into linseed oil, is a high-quality feedstuff for horses. It is used in veterinary medicine for its digestive and anti-inflammatory effects, among other things.
Our organic linseed cake is obtained from linseed by partial de-oiling using gentle cold pressing. This cold pressing at temperatures below 40 °C preserves the valuable ingredients in their best form. The press cake is free from additives and contains valuable unsaturated fatty acids, especially omega-3 fatty acids and lignans. The press cake still contains around 10 g per 100 g of valuable linseed oil. In addition, the crude protein content of linseed cake is around 36 g per 100 g. Linseed cake is high in calories and is therefore an ideal supplementary feed for horses that are heavy feeders.
The essential fatty acids in linseed cake can have a positive effect on the horse's metabolic processes and coat change in the event of feed-related deficiencies. At the same time, regular feeding can ensure a shiny coat. In winter, linseed cake can help the horse to waste less of its own fat reserves and thus maintain its body temperature better. Linseed cake can also strengthen the horse's immune system. In addition, the high mucilage content stimulates intestinal activity and can help prevent colic.
Also suitable for dogs
Our linseed cake can also be used as a feed additive or treat for dogs and can also support a shiny coat. Not every dog eats the pellets on their own. Ideally, the pellets should be mixed with dry or wet food.
Be careful with black cumin seed cake: Black cumin seed oil and black cumin seed cake are poisonous for cats, as they cannot completely break down bitter substances, unlike horses and dogs.

Feeding recommendation
We recommend a daily feeding of 50-100 grams per pony or horse. The pellets can be fed on their own or mixed into the feed and are also suitable as a horse treat.
For dogs, we recommend 3-5 g per 10 kg body weight. Please soak the pellets before feeding and mix into the feed. Start with a smaller amount to check whether your dog tolerates the press cake. Please discuss the dosage with your vet if necessary. Always store in a cool, dry and well-sealed place.
Purely natural for humans and animals
In our oil mill, raw materials from controlled organic cultivation are processed into high-quality natural products. We do not add any additives.
